The Software and Artificial Intelligence subgroup develops new tools that improve data processing workflows and enable cutting-edge research. These tools include open source software for processing and analyzing weather lidar and radar data, an automated radar quality control algorithm to bypass time-consuming manual data editing, and an algorithm to estimate surface wind speeds from flight level observations in tropical cyclones.
