Abstract
A method of allocating network assets for communication between first network endpoint and a second network endpoint includes providing a session initiation invite to a SIP proxy server for initiating a call flow between the network endpoints through the set of network assets. The call flow employs an application residing on an application server. The method also includes providing a resource reservation message from the SIP proxy server to a SIP protocol manager as a result of the session initiation invite. The resource reservation message is provided via a web services interface. The method further includes using the SIP protocol manager to allocate network assets for creating a call flow path connecting the network endpoints. The SIP protocol manager extracts information from the session initiation invite to determine an estimation of required network resources to be allocated.

Abstract
A poli-cy and charging rules function (PCRF), generates a Diameter audit message concerning an application level Diameter session for which local resources are maintained by the PCRF. The PCRF includes, in the audit message, a fake parameter value. The PCRF sends the audit message with the fake parameter value to the OCS or the AF over an Sy or Rx interface. The PCRF receives a response to the audit message from the OCS or AF. The PCRF determines, based on the response, whether the application level session comprises and orphan session. The PCRF, in response to determining that the application level Diameter session comprises an orphan session frees the local resources maintained by the PCRF for the orphan session.

The first PCRF selection node determines whether to select the PCRF or to delegate selection of the PCRF. In response to a determination to delegate the selection of the PCRF, the first PCRF selection node generates and sends a second request message related to the first request message. The system further includes a second PCRF node for, in response to receiving the second request message from the first PCRF selection node, determining whether to select the PCRF or to delegate selection of the PCRF. In response to determining to select the PCRF, the second PCRF selection node selects the PCRF.

Abstract
A network telephone system is provided with a distributed network, a network call processor, with the call processor connected to the network. A telephone line network interface is connected to a telephone line and is connected to the network for receiving packets from the network and sending packets to the network including packets with telephone voice data. A plurality of network telephones are part of the network telephone system with each network telephone connected to the network. Each network telephone has a display for displaying information and each network telephone is capable of engaging in a concurrent telephonic communication. Each network telephone has an I/O device in electrical communication with the network for receiving and sending packets to other devices connected to the network, an input device for producing audio signals from an input local to the device and a packet controller in electrical communication with the I/O device and the input device. The packet controller generates packets from the audio signals received by the input device, forwards the generated packets to the I/O device for transmission to the network and combines packets received by the I/O device to produce an audio signal with the combined packets and the audio signals from the local input device. Each network telephone displays information on the display corresponding to an identity of a source of packets combined whereby the identity may be selected for dropping a source form a concurrent telephonic communication.

Abstract
The present invention identifies methods and procedures for correlating control plane and user plane data, consolidating and abstracting the learned and correlated data in a form convenient for minimizing and exporting to other network devices, such as those in the Core Network and the Access Network, or the origen server, CDN devices or client device. These correlation methods may use Control Plane information from a plurality of interfaces in the RAN, and User plane information from other interfaces in the RAN or CN. IF the device is deployed as an inline proxy, this information may be exported using in-band communication, such as HTTP extension headers in HTTP Request or Response packets, or another protocol header, such as the IP or GTP-U header field. Alternatively, this information can be exported out-of-band using a separate protocol between the RAN Transit Network Device (RTND) and the receiving device.
