Sailboat racing is a terrific way to learn more about boats, handling, trim, and teamwork in a fun and sporting format. At MCSC, we mix inexperienced sailors with a more experienced Race Team Leader to ensure safety and fun.
Race Team Leaders (RTLs)
MCSC races using an MCSC boat will require a Race Team Leader. This is a member who has earned a Race Team Leader card and can lead teams in conditions and on any of the boats for which they have Ratings/Endorsements.
MCSC Enrichment Racing is low-key, inclusive, and instructional: a way to get more time on the water, meet other members and learn new skills.
We work to pair experienced sailors with people who have less experience.
Teams and races are organized to provide an opportunity for each sailor to experience many roles.
Sunday Enrichment Racings is unscored.
J-24 Thursday Night Racing
MCSC hosts one design racing mixing MCSC J-24s and crew with privately-owned J-24 and their crew
every Thursday evening in the summer.

The season is scored with awards going to the best overall boat and the top scoring MCSC RTL.
MCSC Regattas
MCSC Regattas are special events that mix MCSC boats and crew with privately-owned boats and their crew.
Trophies are awarded for each regatta and every event is governed by its own Sailing Instructions (SIs).
