How do I build using Visual Studio 2026? #697

With the release of Visual Studio 2026, 2022 is no longer available to install. But its build tools can be installed as a component of 2026. Here's how far I got:

I already have that component installed and I have these files in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\18\Community\VC\Tools\MSVC\14.44.35207\lib\arm64 |

I'm guessing some build script is stubbornly picking the 14.50 MSVC for which I did not install the ARM64 tools. |

Going into the project settings of the C++ projects and setting build tools from latest to 14.44 fixes it. Thank you for all the help. |

So, x64 wants 14.50 tools to build and arm64 wants 14.44 tools to build. This seems wrong. What's going on? |

Hmm, on our build machine, that setting is the same for all platforms – MSVC Build Tools (Latest). Try searching for "arm64" in the "Individual Components" tab in Visual Studio Installer. Make sure you have this component installed:

<WindowsTargetPlatformVersion>10.0</WindowsTargetPlatformVersion>.<PlatformToolset>ClangCL</PlatformToolset>.Please let us know if that works for you.
