- Sunday, February 8 – Jay Cooke State Park is offering free naturalist programs in February. Agate Adventures – Rock Painting from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the River Inn Visitor Center. Paint, play, discover. Turn ordinary rocks into extraordinary treasures. Learn about the state gemstone and make on to take home. Open to all ages. All programs are free, however a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit is needed to enter the park. They can be purchased upon arrival. $7/day or $35/12-month.
- Tuesday, February 10 – Highway 11/71 International Falls corridor planning public meeting at the Minnesota North College – Rainy River commons area to give feedback about the Highway 11/71 corridor in International Falls. The study area is between the intersection of Koochiching County Road 91 and Hwy 53/Second Avenue. - Tuesday, February 10 – Book Club for Writers features author, publisher, and reporter Mark Munger at the Dubh Linn Pub back room from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Mark is the founder of Cloquet River Press and author of more than a dozen fiction and non-fiction novels, including his Finnish American trilogy. - Wednesday, February 11 – UW-Superior to host family friendly Ojibwe Storytelling Night featuring Niigaanibinesiikwe Hannah Orie at 6 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Shippar Family Atrium, 1605 Catlin Ave. Sponsored by UW-Superior’s Indigenous Cultures Resource Center and Student Support and Engagement, this event is free and open to the community. - Wednesday, February 11 – 14 – Black Woods Blizzard Tour aims to raise $1.75 Million to fund the Fight Against ALS. Entering its 27th year, the Black Woods Blizzard Tour is a three-day snowmobiling event that starts with a reception at Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton. A Celebration Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, February 14, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at the Black Bear Casino Resort. A silent auction, live auction, and awards program will also be held. The band Side Street Detour will play immediately following the event. This event is open to the public and may be attended in person or via web stream. Tickets can be purchased for $50 at www.BlackWoodsBlizzardTour.com.
- Friday, February 13 – Let’s Roller Skate! at Old School Lives, 9165 Hwy 53 in Cotton from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.. There are multiple dates! February 13 & 27, March 13 & 27, and April 24. Concessions are available, Admission is $3 with skate rental $5. You can bring your own skates, however all personal equipment must be checked prior to use. - Friday, February 13 – Night Out at Great Lakes Aquarium from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. It’s a 21+ event featuring animal encounters, SCUBA program, touchpools, child-free exhibit floor, animal mating facts, bar service, and local vendor booths – all in a child-free experience. - Friday, February 13 – Midway Christian Fellowship to host 2026 Night to Shine Celebration event for people with Special Needs, sponsored by Tim Tebow Foundation. The worldwide celebration is centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs. There will be a red carpet entrance, with a welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, catered dinner, Sensory Room, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored. - Saturday, February 14 – Candlelight Event – Ski, Snowshoe, and Walk from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Meet at the River Inn Visitor Center. Ski, snowshoe, or hike on trails lit by luminaries. Warm by the fire afterwards with some hot cocoa. Stop in anytime during this ongoing event. Adult and children’s snowshoes available to rent. Volunteers are needed. - Saturday, February 14 – The University of Wisconsin-Superior Jazz Band will strike all the right notes at its annual Valentine’s Swing Dance on at 7:30 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room, 1605 Catlin Ave. The evening features performances of music from the golden age of big band, including favorites by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Woody Herman. Swing dance lessons are included with admission and will be offered between sets. Tickets are available at the door and may be purchased with cash, check, or credit/debit card. - Saturday, February 14 – A special Virtual Writers Café this month in conversation about the good, the bad, and the ugly of AI with John Teschner from 9:30-11 a.m. John is an author and teaches at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He brings his observations and experiences with AI as a creative writer, a writing teacher and as a professional grantwriter. - Saturday, February 14 – Iron Range Barn Dances announces their first two events of 2026 Season. The Call of the Loon Community Arts, DBA Iron Range Barn Dances first event at Bovey City Hall, 402 2nd St. in Bovey. From 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and feature live music and a caller for traditional square dancing—an experience for all ages and skill levels. The next event will be April 25 at the Maple Hill Community Center, 12284 Town Line in Hibbing.

- Tuesday, February 17 – The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will present UW-Superior Orchestra Director and Professor of Violin and Viola Erin Aldridge, along with Danny Frank at 7:30 p.m. in Webb Recital Hall as part of the University Recital Series. Tickets are $15 and are available at the door. - Saturday, February 21 – The first in the Talking to the Publisher series. With Lily Coyle of Beaver’s Pond Press. At the Boat Club Restaurant in the Fitger’s Complex from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Lily, who is also an author, will explain how to successfully approach a hybrid publisher.

- Sunday, February 22 – 42nd Annual Garbage Omelet Breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 7106. “Famous Three Egg – Garbage Omelet Breakfast” at Holy Assumption Church Hall, 5601 Tower Ave. in Superior from 8 a.m. to Noon. Adults are $12, Children 12 and Under are $6. Includes beverage (orange juice, coffee, or milk,) toast and hash browns. Omelets are made from three eggs and are filled with your choice of fixings. Ham, bacon, sausage, chees, hash browns, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes and olives.
- Thursday, February 26 – The University of Wisconsin-Superior will host its annual Spring Career and Internship Fair from noon to 3 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room, 1605 Catlin Ave. in Superior. The event is free and open to students and alumni from all area colleges and universities as well as to the community. More than 75 of the top employers and organizations from around the Twin Ports region and beyond will be in attendance. Local attending employers include ALLETE, Essentia Health, Anderson Trucking, Dayton Freight, North Shore Bank, Lake Superior YMCA, City of Duluth, Douglas and St. Louis Counties, Benick’s, TLC, Superior Choice Credit Union, Tamarack Health and many more. - Saturday, February 28 – Northern Lakes Coin & Currency Club presents the 18th Annual Spring Coin & Currency Show from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Timberlake Lodge, 144 SE 17th Street in Grand Rapids. Free admission. Buy and sell coins, currency, tokens, agates and collecting supplies. Bring scrap gold and old jewelry to sell.
- Saturday, February 28 – Bow Wow Bingo & Cash Raffle Drawing in the lower level (handicapped accessible) at Grand View Grill & Bar, 2820 Midway Rd. from noon until 3:30 p.m. There will be bingo, fun prizes, 50/50 drawing to benefit Carlton County Animal Rescue. The rescue will be selling drink tickets for $6, with Grand View donating $3 to the rescue. Food will be available. - Sunday, March 1 – Programs at Jay Cooke State Park – Discovery Table: Brains, Beaks, and Bold Personalities. Set up in the River Inn Visitor Center. Meet the corvids. There’s Crow, the popular one. Raven, the loner and Jay, the flashy favorite. Stop by and learn about some of Minnesota’s most common, intelligent, and fascinating birds. From 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 4 – Blues Hall of Famers, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials celebrate a new release in Duluth. Their 10th Alligator Records album, Slideways, will be released on February 27. Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials will perform at The West Theatre in Duluth, 319 N. Central Ave. at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.08-$33.65 at www.thewesttheatre.com.

- Wednesday, March 11 – 29th annual Career Awareness & College Fair at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. In years past, there have been 65-75 career professionals and 20-25 colleges at the event for high school students. Students, grades 8-11th will engage with different career professionals and representatives from postsecondary institutions.

- Friday, March 20 – Programs at Jay Cooke State Park – Vernal Equinox Observation. Meet at the River Inn Visitor Center. Celebrate the Vernal Equinox, the official start to spring at Jay Cooke State Park. Reflect on renewal, growth, and intention-setting through seasonal awareness and quiet reflection. Starting at 9:30 a.m. Then from noon – 2:00 p.m. it’s the Phenomenal Phenology: Spring Series. Phenology is the practice of observing seasonal changes in plants, animals, and weather. This is the first of a series that will focus on observing, journaling, and understanding the changes going on around us.
- Saturday, March 21 – Programs at Jay Cooke State Park – Snowshoe Saunter from noon– 2 p.m. Meet at the River Inn Visitor Center Join us on a leisurely saunter surrounded by snow. After some “how to snowshoe” basics, we’ll head out on the trail to see what we encounter in the woods. After the program, join us around the fire for a hot beverage such as hot cocoa, or tea.
